Facebook is nothing short of a digital phenomenon, and if you think that it is just-another-social-network, then maybe you need to revise your perception. Today, almost everyone you know – your neighbors, relatives, colleagues, and so on – are on Facebook. And this sole fact which companies have realized is why they are trying to capitalize on this virtual but real phenomenon in order to expand their market share.
An Open Door
What makes Facebook so popular when it comes to Internet marketing? Is it the global reach it has earned, the number of users or simply its reputation? The answer is – the simplicity and power it offers to business owners
and companies. Since the Internet is open to all, concealing facts is a difficult task to achieve. If a business owns a Facebook page, then that page is open to all kinds of comments and reviews, be it positive or negative. And this is why people trust Internet marketing; because it is open and mostly true.
Facebook can be Utilized by All
There are many people who believe that only big businesses can succeed by advertising on Facebook, which is completely a false assumption. All you need is a solid and genuine marketing strategy to catapult your business towards success. Start investing some time to promote your Facebook page properly. Add links to your website, share the page link, and so on. Make sure that you are properly interacting with the people who visit your page. Answer queries, regularly post press releases, images, and videos for the public to see.
Patience is a Virtue
The most important part of your business page is the information you share. Be accurate, true, and remember – do not be a braggart. Like the rule the magnificent Hank Aaron used to abide by, let others convey your triumphs and successes for you; let other people do the talking for you. Your Facebook page should have complete details regarding the services you offer and your contact information. If utilized in a planned manner, Facebook can prove to be your strongest ally. Yes, it will take some time for the results to show, but when they do – you will be in for one heck of a ride!

It’s no secret that effective use of Google Plus (Google’s latest foray into the social networking world) can have a major impact on well how your site ranks in the search giant’s results pages. Here are a few quick tips to getting more out of Google+:
The first is to share compelling content; something interesting or an offer that can effectively grab reader attention.
Another method is optimizing the timing and frequency of your updates; rather than post all at once, spread them out during the primetime hours of 10 A.M. to 1 P.M.
Some companies have used Google + by mentioning specific people in updates and using hashtags. Similarly, companies can also use personalized posts by mentioning other Google + users with the application of the + sign, personal signatures, and just using one’s own voice.
Another way is to Optimize Visual Content to create Lead Generation, by adding links to image descriptions, adding links to actual images and videos, as well as creating unique videos and images.
As with all social networks, experimentation is key, so start playing with Google Plus today!

Video advertising on the web has now set record highs for the month of June in 2012. According to comScore, more than 180 million U.S. Web users viewed 33 billion pieces of web content during that month in the form of 11 billion ads.
As you might have guessed, Google was at the top with 1.41 billion ads, the Brightroll video network at 1.39 billion, Hulu with 1.33 billion, Adapt.tv with 1.15, and the TubeMogul Video Ad Platform at 1.04.
This means that video advertising on the web is a broader marketplace than just Google’s YouTube, and that video ads reached 53 percent of the total U.S. population an average of 68 times during the month.

By 2017, the revenue from mobile search will nearly triple to $15 billion. Much of this is due to the high cost-per-click rates for different types of mobile search units. In fact, search apps such as Yelp, Poynt, and Qype are a bigger opportunity for advertisers than a web-based mobile search, and they provide more relevant ad results as well as a better user experience.
This report was from Juniper Research, who also stated that other web search engines besides Google need to find ways to differentiate their products. It also states that augmented reality search is going to be an add-on feature, and there will be harder for newer apps to be found in a business dominated by big brands.
Is your site ready for the mobile revolution? Contact GridSix and we can help.

Internet marketing is one of the most affordable ways to increase business, and there are several ways to succeed in this arena. Of the hundreds of options to choose from, here are three easy ones to get you started:
1) Create a Facebook Fanpage: You will find that this is just about as easy as creating a Facebook profile, and allows you to include the relevant information about your business or service, as well as the appropriate web links. Invite your current clients to follow your page and engage them with relevant updates.
2) Use Banner Advertising: It is recommended that you find a good designer for this service, and you put it in a rotating exchange so it will get around. Make certain that what you are offering is something that someone else isn’t already offering, especially at a cheaper price.
3) Create a content strategy: The best part about a solid marketing strategy is having solid content, so make certain to put on content that delivers the right message that you are looking for. A ‘how to’ video, articles on your industry, client testimonials… Just make sure the content is interesting and relative to your audience.

As the use of social networking continues to grow daily, many consumers are expecting companies to interact with them on the major social networks. Even though this may seem like a hassle to a company to learn a new system of marketing, it has more than paid off in the longrun for numerous companies like Comcast and Zappos.
Any company that utilizes a social network can put a human face on it, and if the response is fast, then the trust in the company on the social network increases. This is especially true if the response is helpful, professional and informative.
A recent survey shows that of those customers receiving a social response, 85% were pleased with said response, and 84% of consumers said that they are ‘OK’ with companies using this data to help unsatisfied customers.
The social networking channels allow companies to truly engage with the customer, and help them to be “in the know” for improving customer satisfaction.

If you are in the business of creating content that will eventually lead to customer growth, you should take the time to examine the ROI (Return On Investment) of your content creation. This will enable you to be more efficient and effective at generating the type of content that actually makes money.
It starts by examining the number of visitors that the content generates, and looking at how many of these visitors have converted to customers. There are a variety of analytical tools out there, like Google Analytics, that will help you identify the conversion rate.
Once you have this data, you will want to compare and analyze the rates of leads to customers for specific offers, as well as the average revenue pulled in by customers from each offer. You can then get a better understanding of what offers appeal to different segments of customers. You can then specifically target these segments with different offers, and determine why certain methods are not working on certain leads.
Analyze your offers with these following steps:
1) List your offers that you want to analyze.
2) Collect data for each offer.
3) Compare Results and Draw Conclusions.
4) Communicate and Implement your Findings.

Adding a Google Author tag to your blog will show Google users that you are the author of a certain article. It doesn’t take long to set up your blog for it, and it could create a dramatic impact on your content as perceived by Google searchers.
All that is required is putting a rel=”author” in between the “a” and the “href” of a HTML anchor tag. Implementation of this method could cause your name and profile on Google Plus to appear on searches on topics that you have written about.
You will need to set up a Google Plus account to do this, and add the name and complete URL of your blog on your Google Plus profile known as Contributor To. Add the URL of your Google Plus account with the rel = ”author” as stated above, and you will have what you need.
If you have a blog that is written by many authors, it is possible to set it up with rel=”author” for that as well. You also have the option of establishing authorship of content using an email address on your particular domain.
Instructions from Google: Link your Google+ profile to the content you create
You can link content you publish on a specific domain (such as www.gridsix.com) to your Google+ profile.
